DEATH NOTICE: Brown County World - August 5, 1904
Margaret Weir was born May 30, 1833, near Edinburgh, Scotland. In 1854 she moved to Canada, and there formed the acquaintance of W.M. Robertson, later known as the "Old Stone Cutter," to whom she was married the following year. Eight children were born to them, five sons, Alexander, Adam, William, George and John, and three daughters, Jennie, Annie and Bessie; all have married but Bessie. In 1868 they came to Brown County, settling two miles north of Willis. This was their home for 36 years. Mr. Robertson died several years ago. Mrs. Robertson died early Tuesday morning, August 2. She suffered intensely the last few weeks. Rev. F.C. Hill, of Willis, had charge of the funeral Wednesday. Her four sons, a son-in-law, Mr. Kirk, and John Cushnie were the pall bearers. Burial was made in the Claytonville Cemetery.
