Esther M. Speltz, 87, of Rollingstone, died Friday (Jan.2, 1987) in St Anne Hospice, Winona.
She was born Mar. 26, 1899, at Oak Ridge, Minn, to John and Pauline Guidinger Schell. She married Frank Speltz, Sep. 20, 1921, at Oak Ridge. They farmed in the Rollingstone area and retired 1958, at which time they moved to the city of Rollingstone.
Her husband died June 19, 1971.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Ladies Aid and was a 50-year member of the St. Theresa Society, both of Rollingstone.
Survivors are two sons, Francis, Winona, and Jack, Rollingstone; two daughters, Alice Whalen, Midland, Mich, and Pauline Metzinger, Newark, Calif; 17 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. Two brothers, three sisters and one grandchild have died.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Anne Hospice Chapel, Msgr. Roy Literski, Fr. Leland Smith and Fr. William Magee officiating. Spring burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Rollingstone.
Friends may call from noon until time of service Tuesday at St. Anne Hospice. Pallbearers will be grandsons Larry, Kent, William, Timothy, and Nicholas Speltz, Jay Whalen and David Metzinger.
