AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Margaret E. Crenshaw, wife of the late Victor Crenshaw, died on Monday, June 23, 2008 at Select Specialty Hospital. She was 78 years old. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at The Poteet Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 3465 Peach Orchard Road. The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at H.I.S Community Church with Rev. Ken Young officiating. Mrs. Crenshaw will lie in state at the church from 12:00 noon until the time of the funeral service. Pallbearers will be Bobby Mills, Robert Cave, Gene Davis, Keith Cave, Wayne Masters and Jimmy Maness. Honorary Pallbearers will be Freddie Fulcher, James Anderson and Ray Crenshaw. Commital services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Crenshaw was a member of H.I.S. Community Church. She was co-owner of Vic's Harley Davidson Sales and founder and director of L.O.T.S. Ministries, located at 566 Broad Street where she tirelessly served those who often went unnoticed in downtown Augusta. The seeds of L.O.T.S. current ministry began in 1949 when Mrs. Crenshaw started a food bank at her south Augusta church, Calvary Baptist. The food bank was moved to Fleming Church of God (now H.I.S. Community Church) around 2003, and served as a training opportunity for youth. Mrs. Crenshaw was determined not to pass by those in need. Mrs. Crenshaw is survived by her daughter, Vickie Crenshaw; and her son, Rodney D. Crenshaw, both of Augusta; grandchildren, Lori Vaughn and her husband Rory, Monica Crenshaw, Wesley Crenshaw, and Barbara Michelle Crenshaw. She was preceded in death by her parents, Monty M. Mills and Gertrude B. Ryles, sister, LaVerne Davis and brother, Monty Frank Mills. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the L.O.T.S. Ministry, c/o Rev.
