KIRSCH – Barbara, 73, Carrolltown, passed away June 14, 2008, at ARHS-Altoona Hospital. She was born March 9, 1935, in Carrolltown, daughter of George and Alice (Bechel) Kirsch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Kirsch, and a niece, Jenell Newmarch. She is survived by her brother, Girard (Carol) Kirsch, Etters, Pa.; sisters, Diana (Jack) Newmarch, Cleveland; Jean (Edwin) Parrish, Carlisle, Pa.; and Nancy (widow of Thomas) Miller, Colver; and a nephew, eight nieces, eight great-nephews and three great-nieces. Barbara worked as an RN at Laurel Crest Manor for 21 years. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Nicktown. She also was an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary and Altar-Rosary Society of St. Nicholas Church. At Barbara's request, there was no visitation. Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, June 28, 2008, at 1 p.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Interment, St. Nicholas Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Northern Cambria schools in Barbara's name. Arrangements are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home Inc., Carrolltown.
