Leonard Allen, son of Carrie Ann (Cavitt) and Benjamin Franklin, was born May 1, 1917 west of Mount Zion near Prescott. He served in the U.S.Army during World War II.

On February 14, 1950 he married Elvina Bell Wyllie in Minnesota. Leonard farmed in Adams County and trimmed trees. He passed away at Crest Haven Care Center in Creston, Iowa.

Survivors include his nieces, Wanda (Larry) Buckner of Adair, Kay (Larry) Witt of Thayer, Juanita Eggert of Red Oak, Colleen (Ken) Brown of Stanton and Sharlene Hartman of Iowa City; nephew Dean Johnson of Adair; special friend Barb Perry of Prescott, and many great-nieces, great-nephews and other relatives.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; wife in November 1970; son Billy Dean Allen in November 1950; and sister Pauline in infancy.
