Sorrowful last rites for A. F. BOND, Ochiltree County resident for many years,
were held Sunday afternoon, 3 o'clock, in the Baptist Church with Rev. Luke
Priba, minister of the Church of Christ, officiating.
A male quartet, Jas. E. BARBOUR, Lawrence ELLZEY, Rufus BOLERJACK and M. M.
TRUAX, sang "Face to Face," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Rock of Ages." Members
of the Masonic Order, of which he was a member acted as pall bearers and paid
him final honors at the Ochiltree Cemetery, where the body was laid to rest.
Mr. BOND, though 72 years of age, has always been active doing his own farm
work and caring for his chickens and stock. He lived ten miles northwest of
town. He had not been well for several weeks and on Wednesday developed
pneumonia. He was brought to the hospital early Thursday morning and passed
away a few hours later.
Arthur F. BOND was born in Elbert County, Georgia, September 21, 1867 and
departed this life in Perryton, Texas, May 2, 1940. He was united in marriage
to Miss Sallie WRIGHT, April 14, 1889 and to this union eight children were
born. The wife and four children preceded him in death.
On September 7, 1926 he was married to Mrs. Alma ELMORE of Perryton.
Survivors are the wife, Mrs. Alma BOND; three daughters, Mrs. M. L. NIECE,
Canoga Park, Calif.; Mrs. B. B. VICKERS, San Bernardino, Calif.; one son, Frank
BOND, Granada, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie HOLLAND, Van Nuys, Calif., and
Mrs. Ida MASSEY, Hartwell, Ga.; fourteen grandchildren; a number of nieces and
nephews and a host of friends.
