Betty V. Absher, 71, born in Thomas, W.Va., passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville after a long illness. She was of the Presbyterian faith. She was married to the late James E. Absher for 29 years. She is survived by three children, Jim (Donna) Absher of Jonesville; Karen Absher of Winston-Salem; and Libby (Gus) Harris of Mocksville. She was known by her six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren as Nannie. She will be sadly missed by all. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, at Hinkle Funeral Chapel in Davis, W.Va., with the Rev. James Martin officiating. Interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Thomas, W.Va.
