GULLEY, J.W. – After an illness extending over a period of several months J.W. Gulley passed away Saturday night at his home a short distance north of town. Funeral services were held at the residence Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock conducted by Rev. Shipley of the M.E. church and Rev. Denham of the Baptist church at Fayetteville. The remains were interred in Bluff Cemetery under the auspices of the G.A. R. post and the I.O.O.F. Lodge. J.W. Gulley was born in Decatur County, Ind. and was 65 years of age. He was the father of seven children, four of whom, three sons and one daughter who, together with his wife, survive him. The youngest son is in the Philippines. Deceased served 18 months in the civil war as a member of the Co. E, 37th Indiana Regiment. He was a member of the G.A.R. post and also a member of the Masonic and Odd Fellows fraternities. The family came to Springdale in 1888 and Mr. Gulley made many friends here and was respected by all. GULLEY, J.W. – After an illness extending over a period of several months J.W. Gulley passed away Saturday night at his home a short distance north of town.
