SMITHFIELD – Edgar Marlyn Ware, 70, of 303 Edgewood Drive, died Sunday at Riverside Hospital, Newport News. He was born in King Mountain, N.C., and was a retired electrician. He was a member of Benns United Methodist Church, Smithfield, and its men's Bible class, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Catawba Masonic Lodge No 56, Rescue-Battery Park Ruritan Club and Isle of Wight Golf Association. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Katherine A. Ware; a daughter, Mrs. Joseph F. Gnieski of Smithfield; a son, James M. Ware of Rescue; his step-mother, Mrs. H.A. Carrouth of Clover, S.C.; a sister, Mrs. Eloise W. Patterson of Fort Mill, S.C.; a brother, Harold C. Ware of Charlotte, N.C.; and four grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Benns United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ralph A. Stalter. Burial with Masonic rites, will be in St. Luke's Memorial Park, Smithfield. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield.
