Forrest R. Gowen, age 44, died Wednesday last week in the kitchen of his parents home
at 29 Elm Street.
Death was due to suicide by poisoning; and had been dead for two days before he was found.
He was graduated from Sanford High School and attended Gorham Normal School.
He was awarded his Masters Degree at Boston University and had taught physics and chemistry at the high school at Cheshire in Connecticut for the the past 14 years. Before that, he taught for five years at Newington in Connnecticut.
He was a member of Temple Lodge AF & AM
of Cheshire, Connecticut; and of the National Education Association.
He was a veteran of service with General Patton's Third Army in Europe during World War II and rose to the rank of sergeant.
