Sidney Rowlett Clements Jr., age 76 of Clements Bottom, died Sunday, June 1, 2008. Son of the late Sidney Rowlett and Blanche Ellen (Pate) Clements Sr., he was a farmer and retired from the Henry County School system as a mechanic. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Lockport Masonic Lodge #772, Shelbyville Chapter No. 2 RAM, Harry F. Walters Council #101, the Shelby Commandery #32 and the Shrine. He was a member of the Lockport Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Yount Clements, Clements Bottom; three daughters: Karen Meade and husband, Willard, Bagdad; Janet Clements, Clements Bottom; Brenda K. Coleman and husband, Harold, Bowling Green; two sons: John Mark Clements and wife, Kim, Clements Bottom; Billy Reed Clements and wife, Tamara, Frankfort; one brother, Charles Clements, Louisville; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Linda Sue Clements.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 6 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Bro. Wayne Kelly of Owenton will officiate and will be assisted by Bro. Paul Briscoe, pastor of Lockport Baptist Church. Interment will be in Pleasureville Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday, June 5 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be John Mark Clements, Billy Reed Clements, Steve Clements, Barry Woods, Bobby Clements, Rickey Woods and Gary Woods.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Kosair Children's Hospital.
