Miss Susan Helen Connelly, 82 a registered nurse who had made her home in Harristown with a sister, died Monday in the Kings Daughters home in Springfield. She had lived there for the past 10 years. She was born in Harristwon on Aug. 30,1877 a daugher of Dr. John L. and Nancy L. Bedford Connelly. She graduated from the Methodist school in Des Moines, Iowas in 1907 and served as a nurse in China for 12 years from 1913 to 1917 and from 1918 to 1924 and was a nurse in India for one year.
She had worked at Eureka College, Lake Forest, Milwaukee Downer and as a campus nurse in Michigan, Indiana,Massachusetts and Wisconsin.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Christian church in Springfield.
She leaves two sisters, Mrs. H.P. Ash and Miss Alice Connelly, both of Tucson,Ariz. Mrs.Ash is a former resident of Harristown and it was with her that Miss Connelly made her home before she moved to Springfield. One sister and two brothers preceded her in death. One of her brothers was the late Dr. George Connelly of Mt. Pulaski
