Hans A. Teslow, one of the old residents of Glenwood township, passed away at his home Friday, May 25, 1917, about six o'clock p.m. Death was caused by pneumonia, with which Mr. Teslow had suffered for about a week.
He was born February 12, 1850 (1849), in Norway, and so was 67 years of age at the time of his death.
When about 18 years of age, he came to America, and settled at once in Glenwood township, Winneshiek county, which thereafter continued to be his home.
In 1876, he was united in marriage to Synneva Hendrickson, who with nine children survives.
Deceased also leaves one brother, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Ten children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Teslow, one daughter dying in infancy. The remaining children are: Albert, of Allamakee county; Cecelia (Mrs. John Woldum) of this city; Hans, of Decorah; Ida (Mrs. Edgar Aarnes) of Decorah township; Ben, of Glenwood township, Herman, of this city, and Carl, Helga, and Bertha, at home.
Mr. Teslow's long residence in this county acquainted him widely, and the friends of the family offer their sympathy in this hour of bereavement.
The funeral was held yesterday afternoon, at one o'clock from the home and 1:30 from the Glenwood church, of which Mr. Teslow was a member. Burial was made in the Glenwood cemetery, Rev. S. A. Scarvie officiating. The Decorah Journal, May 30, 1917

Supposidly arrived at the Port of Quebec on the ship Johann June 23, 1869.
