Rhett Milam Abrams, age 85, died Friday, April 4, 2003, at National Health Care of Clinton.

He was born in Goldville, and was the son of the late Thomas Duncan and Mollie Stephens Abrams.

Mr. Abrams worked most of his life in Joanna and was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. He went into the Army in November 1942 and served as a member of the 1st Infantry - The Big Red One. He participated in the invasions of Sicily and Normandy and served three years during World War II. He was awarded the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart and the Combat Infantry Badge.

Mr. Abrams was predeceased by his wife, Mary Nell Abrams; and is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted Monday, April 7, at 2 p.m. at Pinelawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church, 305 Magnolia St., Joanna, SC 29351; or to the charity of one's choice. - Gray Funeral Home, Clinton.
