Kate was born to: John Fitzgerald and Mary Jewel Anderson Fitzgerald (Putnam). She married John A. Kennedy 03/27/1883 in Cedar Co., MO. John had previously been married to Mary Bristow and they had a daughter Laura Jane. Kate and John had the following children: John Samuel, Mary Jane "Mollie", Robert Elijah "Bob", Ivory Jane and Martha Edna. Kate, John and family lived in Arnica. Kate had many skills, such as, folk medicine, spinning and weaving cloth. Kate had grown up in Tennessee on the plantation of her father, who was much older than her mother. When her father died her mother married John Putnam and the family, including her sister Jane and husband Linn Taylor with son Benjamin along with Kates brother Samuel moved to Missouri in about 1878.
