John Gibson Cates. 71, passed away a his home, 708 Leland Street, McKinney, Saturday morning at 3:30 o'clock. He was born June 22, 1888 in Collin Co. and had been an employee of the City of McKinney for the past ten years. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom Cates.

Surviving are his wife, Sara Davidson Cates, Two Daughters, Eva McIntire of Claude, Tx: Minnie Murphy of McKinney: four sons: Andrew J, Leslie, Jesse and Will G. Cates all of McKinney. One brother, Eugene Cates, of this city, 29 grandchildres and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sons, one sister, two brothers and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Crouch-Moore Chapel after which burial willbe in the Wilson Chaptl Cemetery.
