Mr. Layton was born Dec. 27, 1925, near Wrightsville, Ga. He moved to Springdale in 1946 and was a mill worker for Bridalveil Box & Lumber until 1960, when illness forced him to retire. He moved to Troutdale in 1965.
Survivors include his brothers, Charles, James M. and Bob.
Interment in Mt. View Cemetery in Corbett.
