Gladys A. Anderson Hopkins, 88, of Parkersburg died February 26, 2002 at Worthington Manor. She was born in Parkersburg a daughter of the late Elihu Guy and Mary Kerr Anderson.

She had been employed by The Ormond Shop and the A.W. Cox Department Store until her retirement. She was an original member of the Kimgoh Club of Parkersburg, a lifelong member of the Parent Teachers Association, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Parkersburg, where she served as a Deaconess and Sunday school teacher, and was a member of the Kelley Bible Class and Nannie Alvis Circle.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Glada and Keith Powers of Parkersburg, one son, Dr. C. Michael Hopkins of Bridgeport, WV, two granddaughters Pamela McClain and husband Steve of Parkersburg, and Janette Corrothers and husband Earl of Parkersburg, a great granddaughter, Merideth Noel McClain of Parkersburg, and one brother, Jack Anderson, of Sun City, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence H. Hopkins, to whom she had been married 59 years.

Services will be Friday 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church, 9th and Market Street, with the Reverend Richard McClure officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg and Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.
