Anna Kreisman was born in Savaton, Russia the daughter of John Safenreider and Anna Barbara Miner, who were both of German ancestry living among the Volga River German colonies in Russia.

In 1907, Anna married Peter Paul "Pete" Kreisman (1882-1971), the son of Peter Paul Kreisman and Katherine Picart. Soon after their marriage, in about 1908, Anna and Pete left Russia for America, eventually settling in Wyandotte Co., Kansas, where the first two of their fourteen children (Marie and Peter) were born.

Soon after the birth of their second child, Anna and Pete moved their family back to Russia. This move, however, proved to be brief, as they, along with another son (Adam) born in Russia, returned to the United States on June 15, 1913, aboard the ship Breslau, arriving in Baltimore, Maryland. After their arrival, they once again setteled in Kansas, living in Grainfield.

By 1919, Anna and Pete moved their family to Iowa, living in Dodge and Britt. By 1924, they returned to Kansas, living in Kansas City. Sometime after 1930, Anna and Pete moved their family once again, to Oregon, living in Clackamas and Multnomah counties.

Anna and Pete had fourteen children between 1909 and 1929: Marie, Peter Paul, Adam, Savestor, Monica, an unnamed baby boy, Mary, Joie, Kathrine, John, Geneva, Elizabeth, Florina, and Agnes.
