Letitia M. C. Steggells
AMERICAN FORK – Mrs. Letitia Mary Clements Steggells, 84, 258 E. 4th North, American Fork, died Saturday at 10:05 a.m. in an American Fork hospital following a lingering illness.
She was born Sept. 23, 1868, at American Fork, a daughter of Joseph Smith and Roxie Ann Baker Clements.
She was a member of the Fourth Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and had been a Relief Society teacher for many years.
She was married to Jonathan F. Steggells Aug. 14, 1890, at American Fork.
Surviving are her husband; following children, Louis J., Albert, Wilford Steggells and Mrs. Elizabeth Proctor, all of American Fork; Mrs. Bertha May Wood, and Mrs. Leah Cox, both of Provo; Mrs. Nora Hartwell, San Francisco, Cal.; Mrs. Pearl Archibald, Haywood, Cal.; Mrs. Mary Ann King, Salt Lake City; 48 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Deborah Thorn, American Fork, and Mrs. Laura McGee [Magee], Los Angeles. Cal.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Fourth Ward Chapel by Melvin W. Grant, bishop, American Fork Sixth Ward.
Friends may call at Anderson and Sons Mortuary, American Fork, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday prior to services.
Burial will be in American Fork Cemetery.
