Ada was the daughter of John Joseph and Sarah M (Buckhanan) Thomas. She married Burett Henderson Benfield in 1917 and they had two sons: Harry Eugene and Thomas Harding

Ada Hilda Thomas Benfield, 99, of 3000 Holston Lane died Monday at the Brian Center.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Haywood Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Surviving are son, Harry E. Benfield of Dover, Del.; two grandchildren.
The family will be at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home in Sanford 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday.
