Addie Brent Bryant (1871-1955) married Nelson Bryant (1840 1926). 6. Shadrack Leslie (1873-1947) married Minnie Brent (1873-1959). 7. John Francis (1875 1912) married Aurelia Ida Harvey (1879-1967).8. Eugenia Landen Anderson (1877-1956) married Frank T. Anderson. 9. Mary Christine Higginbotham (1879-1942) married Willie Cabell Higginbotham (1883-1948).

Shadrack was born on a farm on the James River near Tye River. He was a farmer and merchant and lived on a farm on Hat Creek near Bryant. He died at his daughter-in-laws home near Rose Mills.
On September 1, 1861, he enlisted for one year in Company K, 49th Regiment, Virginia Infantry at Camp Mitchell. This company subsequently became Company F. He was promoted to 1st Sergeant from the 4th Sergeant on April 15, 1862, 2nd Lieut. April 30, 1862, 1st. Lieut. May 31, 1862. He was wounded near Harpers Ferry on September 14, 1863 and placed on Register of Invalid Corps. Register General Hospital Charlottesville (September 1864) showed a right thigh fracture to his femur from a gun shot. Before resigning from the Registered Invalid Corps, effective Jan. 16, 1865, he probably spent some time at "Greenway" in Nelson County near Gladstone, Va.
