Clarence Eugene Anderson passed away on December 31, 2006 of natural causes incident to age. Clarence was born February 8th, 1915 in Murray, Utah to Franz Julius Anderson and Regina Josephina Borg. He grew up in Sandy-the oldest of five children. "Andy", as he was fondly called by friends, graduated from Jordan High School in 1933. During the "Great Depression", he worked in the CC Camps in Zions and Bryce Canyons Building Trails, and would send his money home to his mother. Clarence married Juanita Campbell. They had one daughter. While serving as a Marine in the Pacific during World War II, his wife passed away. In 1947, Andy married Laura Cleora Nye in the Salt Lake Temple. They had five children. Clarence worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 36 years. He was active in the Railroad Credit Union, later named TransWest. He worked on its Board of Directors and, for a term, served as its President. Andy also served in the local scout troop for 23 years, where he spent much of that time as Scout Master. He was involved in the local Democratic Party, and spent many days with Cleora at the election booth serving as judges. During his retirement years, he was active in CB and HAM radio (Such as REACT). Andy was also on the governing board of the Sunday Anderson Senior Citizens Center. His hobbies were fishing, watching sports, and his grandchildren. He was active in visiting many of their youth activities: soccer, football, and baptisms. He took them to see many Bees baseball games. He always had candy and ice cream at his home for the grandkids. He was a very friendly person, well beloved by neighbors and friends. Andy is survived by his six children, Marilyn (Ralph) Carpenter, Marge (Dave) Larsen, Valeen (Dave) Sudweeks, Bruce (Julie) Anderson, Ron (Crystal) Anderson, and Larry (Suzie) Anderson; 35 grandchildren; and 48 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Cleora; his parents; his brother, Cliff; and his sister, Vivian.
