Mrs. Lillian Dorothy Peterson, 57, of Lateral A. Road, Vero Beach, died last Wednesday evening at a local hospital. She was a resident of Vero Beach for 30 years, moving here from Moline, Ill. She was a member of the Community Church.
Mrs. Peterson is survived by her husband, Axel T. Peterson; two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Electa Washington and Miss Dorothy Peterson, Vero Beach; four sons, Axel T. Peterson Jr., Vero Beach, Karl F. Peterson, Pamona, Calif., Edward P. Peterson, and Fred Harrell Peterson, Vero Beach; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Olson, Moline, Ill., Mrs. Hulda Odendahl, East Moline, Ill., and Mrs. Minnie Nave, Moline, Ill.; and two brothers, Oscar Lundeen and Edward Lundeen, East Moline, Ill.; and one grandchild, Phyllis Jean Peterson.
Private funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday from the Peterson residence, with the Rev. Harold C. Peterson officiating. Burial was in Crestlawn Cemetery, with the Floyd Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Other information: Axel homesteaded land in the early 1920's and became a citrus pioneer. Axel cultivated the first navel oranges in Indian River County, FL.
