Miriam was the daughter of Gamaliel Parker (1718-1770) and Elizabeth Blakesley (1721-1782). She married Stephen Beach on 22 Dec 1774 in Wallingford, New Haven, CT. They had 10 children who are listed on Stephen's page.

Her epitaph below is the second stanza of a hymn written by Englishman Isaac Watts (1674-1748); the first stanza is on her husband Stephen's stone.

"Life is the hour that God has given
To 'scape from hell and fly to Heav'n;
The day of grace, and mortals may
Secure the blessings of the day."

See Stephen's page for the complete hymn.
