Robert "Bob" Silas , 76 of Batesville, died on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at a Little Rock hospital. He was born on September 14, 1931 in Greenwood, Mississippi to Lorse and Mary Rawls Silas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.
Survivors include his wife Jo Nelson Silas of Batesville, one son Michael Silas of Tuckerman; one daughter Vickie Smart of Batesville; one brother Carol Silas of Batesville, two sisters Edith Cobb of Dexter, MO and Jean Bell of Batesville; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Willis Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Cushman.
Pallbearers are Chris Libley, Roger Gunther, Junior Foster, David Cobb, David Ring, Mark Hatfield, and Lynn Long.
Honorary Pallbearers are Alvis Dodd and Howard Smith.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2008 at Willis Funeral Service.
