BALLARD HAY, age 94, of Wheelersburg, died Wednesday, February 10, 1999 , at Greenbriar Convalescent Center.
A native of Big Blaine, KY, he was born December 15, 1904 to the late John James Hay and Sarah Sagraves Hay. He was a retired crane operator for the former Empire Detroit Steel Corp., an army veteran, and was of the Baptist Faith. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Verna Skaggs Hay, on August 3, 1990, four sons, Kenneth, Denny, David, and James Hay, seven brothers, four sisters, and a granddaughter. Surviving are a son, Marvin "Coke" Hay of Gainesville, FL,two daughters, Juanita Ferguson and Thelma Cole, both of Wheelersburg, three granddaughters, whom he reared, Carol Goffee of Lorain, Janice Stamper of Wheelersburg, and Tammy Leazier of South Amhurst, a sister, Adeline Ross of Versailles, KY, nine grandchildren, twenty-one greatgrandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Services will be 10:00 am Saturday at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Tim Wright officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 pm Friday. The family's favorite charity is the Berean Baptist Church Building
Fund.
