Crawford lived at the corner of Farmersville and Great Hill Roads in a house once owned by the Isaac Lawrence family (also buried in South Sandwich Cemetery). The house was built in 1810 and torn down December 2005. He moved here when he was about 4 years old having been born just across the street (Great Hill Road) in a home owned by his grandparents Benjamin and Octavia (Jones) Hoxie.
