Amanda P. Hardage was born to Rev. William T. Hardage and Martha Cain-Hardage. She was 1st married to Bailis E. Walker, who died Sept. 12, 1857, intestate. Letters of Administration 1838-1856, Volume II show Amanda P. wife of B.E. Walker as an heir of Rev. William T. Hardage.
Other Court records show that on the 10th Day of November 1857, Amanda Walker & Kenneth Martin (atty) filed for Letter of Administration for Bailis E. Walker, deceased estate.

Caldwell, Shelton S. to Manda P. Walker, 9 June 1859 by K. Martin J. P. Book D pg 112.

Two WALKER boys, John and Joseph were listed as Caldwell children in the 1860 and 1870 census. By the 1880 census, they were using their true WALKER surname, married with children.
