Olive moved to Wellsville in 1929 and graduated from Wellsville High School in 1933. In 1944, she moved to Scio. She was an employee of the former Rockwell Brother's Department store in Wellsville and retired from the former Citizens National Bank and Trust, Alfred office. Olive was a 50-year member of the Scio United Methodist Church and she had taught junior bowling at the Community Lanes in Belmont for many years. She was a loving, devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed baking and cooking.
Survivors include two sons, William T. Emrick and Jack R. (Donna) Emrick, both of Scio; two grandsons, Brett and Peter Emrick; several nieces and nephews; surrogate granddaughters, Maggie Able and Amanda Ogden, as well as special friends, Satch and TC Gary, and Julie Ogden.
Olive was predeceased by three brothers, Mason T. Dye, Russell B. Dye and Lester H. Dye.
Friends are invited to call from 7-9 p.m. today and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville. A funeral service will take place 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Scio United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Childress presiding. Burial will take place in Fairlawn Cemetery in Scio and memorials may be made to the Scio Memorial Library, Scio United Methodist Church or to the donor's choice.
