Everett E. Baker, 73, Dies Tuesday

Everett Baker, 73, of 465 Morningside died Tuesday at Bartholomew county hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks. He had been in failing health two years.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at the Reed funeral home by the Rev. Jerry Day. Burial will be at Garland Brook cemetery. Persons may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednedasy and after noon Thursday.

Mr. Baker was born Nov. 8, 1899, in Tippecanoe county to Aaron and Sarah Stidham Baker. He retired from the American 'Hydrotherm company five years ago. He was a member of the Baptist church and a veteran of the first world war. Mr. Baker lived most of his life in Jennings county before moving to Columbus about 27 years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys; six sons, Jesse, David, Carl and William, all of Indianapolis, John, at home, and Roscoe of Route 4; two sisters, Grace Hayden of Versailles and Blanche Wood of Indianapolis;

16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jasper.
