Mr. Adam Hilton (Sonny) Holley, Jr., 76, of 2910 Cedartown Hwy., Rockmart, died suddenly Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Holley was born in Upson County, GA on August 4, 1931 a son of the late Adam Hilton Holley, Sr. and Rosie Cole Holley. He had lived the greater part of his life in Rome and following his retirement moved to Rockmart. He retired as a Master Draftsman with the General Electric Medium Transformer Plant in Rome following 39 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the time of the Korean Conflict and was a member of Davitte Lodge 513 F. & A.M. He was a member and Deacon of the Euharlee Baptist Church and taught the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Streetman Holley of Rockmart to whom he was married on August 7, 1952; daughter, Mrs. Cheryl Mull and her husband David of Rome; sons, Mr. Ricky Holley and his wife Lisa of Rome; Mr. Tim Holley and his wife Kristy of Taylorsville; brother, Mr. Olin Holley of Centre, AL; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren. The funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2008 in the Euharlee Baptist Church with Rev. Stephen Moore, Carlton Rogers and Dewey Atchley officiating. Interment was held in the Aragon Cemetery. Pallbearers included Floyd Barber, Gene Barber, Donald Godfrey and grandsons Josh Holley, John Mull, Ben Mull, Seth Holley, and Drake Holley. The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
