Funeral services for Joseph Lane Worsham, Sr., 84, will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, September 9, 2002 in Centuries Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Dr. Clint Davis and Bro. Al Richardson. Burial will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Worsham was born in Verda, LA on August 13, 1918. He passed away in Shreveport Friday, September 6, 2002 after a lengthy illness. He was a retired carpenter and was in bridge construction for many years with Massman Construction Company. He served his country during WWII in the South Pacific with the U.S. Navy Seabees. Mr. Worsham also served as the state commander of the Louisiana Seabee Association, was a charter member of the Haynes Avenue Baptist Church where he was deacon emeritus.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Addie Pool Worsham, brother, Herbert Murphy Worsham and sister, Jewel Worsham Davison.

Mr. Worsham is survived by his wife of 54 years, Vivian Wallace Worsham; children, Sheryl McKnight of Shreveport, Joseph L. Worsham, Jr. and wife Cindy of Easton, MO, Lauren McKnight and husband Jim of DeRidder, LA, Alicia Lambert and husband Terry of Emporia, KS; nine grandchildren, Candace Scott, Tim McKnight, Jay McKnight, Ryan McKnight, Cole Lambert, Brad Worsham, Adam McKnight, Clay Lambert and Patricia Worsham. He also leaves two great grandchildren, Ashley Tisdale and Jared Scott.

Pallbearers will be Tim McKnight, Jay McKnight, Ryan McKnight, Adam McKnight, Brad Worsham, Clay Lambert and Trey Scott.

Honorary pallbearers will be Harold White, Richard Lofton, Malcolm Parker, Travis Burson, Paul Durham and Mark Huber.

Memorial gifts may be made to Haynes Avenue Baptist Church, 610 Haynes Ave, Shreveport, LA 71105.
