He married (1) Sarah Ann White February 09, 1879 in Elkland, Webster Co., MO. He was a carpenter and lived in Southwest Missouri and neighboring Kansas. I was told he made caskets for a while in Joplin, MO. He had one son and six daughters. He had a odd sense of humor, naming his daughters with names each beginning with M. There was Miranda, Myrtle, Maude, Mable Elizabeth Mable, and Minnie. But when his youngest daughter was born, he said he sat down to think of a name, and He thought and he "thet", and lacking a name, he gave up and just named her Thet. He was buried beside his first wife Sarah in Kansas.
