8 Sept 1970: Rose M. Funk, 90, widow of Samuel B. Funk, 27 N. Center St., Cleona, a resident of the community for about 70 years, died Monday afternoon at her residence. She was born in Heidelberg Township, daughter of the late Jonas and Ida Zinn Kreider. Her husband died in 1928. Mrs. Funk observed her 90th birthday on May 13. She was a member of the Fairland Brethren in Christ Church and the Bible Class of the Sunday School for 68 years. She leaves ten children: Mrs. Margaret Speece, Cleona; Irene, wife of Harry McConnell, Cleona; Minnie, wife of Charles Baldwin, Doylestown; Daniel, Lebanon; Jacob, Cleona; Mrs. Mary Morrison, Broomall, Pa.; Mrs. Grace Partridge, Rosanna, John and Kathryn, all of Cleona. Another daughter, Mrs. Ida Bomgardner, preceded her in death. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; three brothers, Rufus and Jonas Kreider, both of Annville, and Noah Kreider, Palmyra. [Lebanon Daily News]
