CREVE COEUR, IL - Doris Louise Hall, 87, of 1910 Springfield Road, East Peoria, formerly of 407 Groveland, died at 11 a.m. Monday, June 27, 1994, at Good Samaritan Health Care Center in East Peoria, IL.

Born Jan. 1, 1907, in Sciota to Benjamin and Alice Litchfield Head, she married Roy C. Hall on June 25, 1938, in Davenport, Iowa. He died Sept. 28, 1970. Two brothers preceded her in death.

Surviving are four sons, Jon R. and Jay A., both of East Peoria, Jerrold L. of Washington and James G. of Creve Coeur; one sister, Reah Leighty of Metamora; and six grandchildren.

She attended Western Illinois University in Macomb.

She taught school at Central Grade School in East Peoria from 1930 to 1938. She taught second and fourth grades at Gerber and Parkview schools in Creve Coeur from 1952 until retiring in 1969. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and was a life member of the Parent-Teacher Association.

She attended Bethel Memorial United Church of Christ in Creve Coeur.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel. The Rev. James F. Williams will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour before services at the chapel. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.

Memorials may be made to any charity.
