He passed away at 7:58 p.m., Sunday, June 15, 2008, in Logansport.
Born May 17, 1928, in Cass County, he was the son of Leo J. and Lorena Farrer Sailors. He was married Nov. 4, 1950, in Logansport, to Charlotte Baumann, who preceded in death Nov. 15, 1998.
A retired farmer, Cook was also retired from Case Implement. Cook had also been a service representative for area laundromats and had managed the American Legion Post 60 for a number of years.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Cook was a member of the American Legion Post 60, VFW Post 3790, 40 et 8 Voiture and the Logansport Moose and Elks lodges. Cook served on the Clymers Volunteer Fire Department and the St. John's Cemetery Board.
Surviving are companion, Barb Iannelly, Logansport; brother, J.T. Sailors (Marilyn), Walton; four sisters, Lucille Turner and Mary Ann Downhour (Duane) and Marlene Remley (Charles), all of Walton, and Lorena Kay Harvey, Noblesville; sisters-in-law, Eileen Berkshire, Logansport, and Agnes McCool, Detroit, Mich.; and a number of nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great- nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Edward Everett Sailors, and two brothers, James A. Sailors and Donald Sailors.
The Rev. Kevin Drane will officiate. Burial, with full military honors, will be in St. John's Cemetery, Cass County.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and one hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.
