James Leonard Martin, 63 years old who died recently at his home near Welch, Ok., was reared near Napton, coming to this country when he was 4 years old with his parents from Kentucky. He moved to Oklahoma in 1906 from Missouri. He was married to Susana Campbell of this county Oct. 6, 1872, and to this union 10 children were born, eight of whom survive: Mrs. E. McGuire, Nelson; Mrs. Sam Shannon, Mazie, Ok.; Chas. N. Martin, Marshall; John C. Martin, Sedalia; Lonnie Martin, Choteau, Ok.; Mrs. R. C. Griffith, J. L. Martin, Jr., and Robt Martin, Welch, Ok.; besides two brothers, G. P. Martin of Arrow Rock; J. C. B. Martin of near Wilton Springs; and three sisters: Mrs. J. B. McFadden of Wilton Springs; Mrs. Mary Jones of Nelson and Mrs. Minnie Ethington of Cincinnati, O.
The funeral took place at the Methodist church at Welch.
