Beauregard was a blue merle shetland sheepdog (sheltie). He was the happiest dog I ever knew, always smiling and grinning and ready to play 'catch' or run around in the park. His full name was Beauregard Jackson Pickett Lee Silber, he was named after a character in the movie Auntie Mame ... who was a Southern aristocrat. But usually we just called him Beau. When we lost him I, a grown man, cried for two days.
