ROSEPINE — James Felix Weeks, 87, died at 3:35 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2003, in Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder.
He was born in Fullerton and lived in Rosepine most of his life. He was retired from the Army Air Force Exchange Service in Fort Polk. He was also retired as Rosepine mayor pro-tem and as an alderman from the Town Council. He also served many years with the Vernon Parish Police Jury. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Rosepine and was a member of the choir for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Ellen Cooley Weeks.
Survivors include three daughters, Ima Jean Wunderlich, Pearl Tucker Lowery and spouse Harvey, and Patsy Marie Russell, all of Rosepine; one son, James Leonard Weeks and spouse Teri of La Camp; one brother, Reid Weeks of Rosepine; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 18, in Rosepine United Pentecostal Church. The Rev. Gary Bankson will officiate. Burial will be in Rosepine Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder
