She graduated from Bedford High School in the Class of 1910. She taught school in a one-room schoolhouse in Bedford Township, and in Willoughby, Ohio, as Teacher-Principal.
She married Fred Wilson Oldham, of Bedford, Ohio, on Christmas Day 1917, in Bedford. She was a charter member of Bedford American Legion Post #350 Auxilliary, in which she was very active.
Ethel died in Beverly, Massachusetts at the home of her daughter, Mary Helen Bouchard, on Armistice Day, Nov 11, 1980. Services were held at Johnson-Romito Funeral Home, Bedford, Ohio, Nov.15, the Rev. Paul Balliett of the Maple Heights Methodist Church. (Rev. Balliett was formerly minister at Bedford Methodist Church, of which Ethel was a member.)
Burial was in Bedford Cemetery, Bedford, Ohio, Nov 15, 1980.
