William Lee Landreth, 71, well known citizen of the Fries section (of Carroll County, VA), passed away unexpectedly, at his home, about 8:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon, November 13. He was the father of Reid Landreth, Galax, Va.
The deceased was a son of the late James B. and Virginia Farmer Landreth.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Ida M. Landreth, and in addition to the son already mentioned, the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Garland Pinion, Galax, Guy Landreth, Landrum, S. C., and Mrs. Leon Etonk, Mrs. Ruth Funk, William Landreth, Roy Landreth, Walter Landreth, Sam Landreth and John Landreth, Fries, Va.
Funeral services were conducted this afternoon, at 2:00 o'clock, at Providence Methodist church, by Rev. Carroll Skeene, pastor of the Fries Methodist church and Rev. W. Kyle Cregger, pastor of the First Methodist church, Galax, Va. The body was interred in the Providence United Methodist Church cemetery.
