"Mrs. Ausmus, Teacher At Bethlehem, Passes"

Mrs. Cass Ausmus, teacher at Bethlehem school for the past 16 years died suddenly at her home at Speedwell last Thursday morning, October 8. She was 64. Mrs. Ausmus would have been eligible to retire next year. At the beginning of this school year she was assigned to Stony Fork but this was later changed and she was again assigned to Bethlehem. Survivors are: the husband, Cass Ausmus of Speedwell; daughter, Mrs. John M. Davis of Concord; foster daughter, Mrs. Richard Pruitt of Middletown, Ohio; sisters, Mrs. Marion Dunn and Mrs. Jim Yoakum of Speedwell, Mrs. Millard Rogers of Concord, Mrs. Gray Davis of Chattanooga, and Ms. Harry Disney of Detroit; brothers, James and George Williams of Detroit. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, October 10, at Haynes Flat Baptist Church at Speedwell with the Rev. Leonard White of LaFollette officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
