Martha Crockett of Grayslake
The visitation for Martha Crockett (nee Batz), 88, formerly of Mundelein, will be from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 24500 N. Old McHenry Road, Hawthorn Woods. Interment will follow in St. Matthew's Cemetery.
Born June 5, 1917, in Wauconda, she died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2005, at home.
Martha was a lifelong member of St. Matthew's Church and was active with the Ladies Aid at church. She also taught Sunday school at St. Matthew's School for over 60 years. Prior to her retirement, she was the secretary at Fremont School in Mundelein.
Martha is survived by her nieces and nephews, Rick Prefontaine, Michael (Bonnie) Prefontaine, Barbara Prefontaine, Ann Marie (Kevin) Ashton, Veronica (Jeff) Gahgan, Susan Prefontaine and several great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Nora (nee Dietz) Batz; her husband, George; and her sister, Leona Prefontaine.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Matthew's Church.
