December 3, 1925
A few months ago, Alva Dumont, aged 18, of Klamath Agency, was severely
injured about the head while engaged in bull dogging steers in Chiloquin.
Alva died this morning at 1 o'clock at a local hospital from the results of
the accident, after a vain attempt by the physicians to save his life.
With the young man's condition gradually becoming worse, it became
necessary to perform a serious operation. After a brief rally, Dumont
suddenly sank until the end this morning.
Dumont was the son of George Dumont of Chiloquin and besides his father,
is survived by a brother, John Dumont. He had been employed at the Klamath
Agency as a wood cutter for the past few months and was well known on the
reservation.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock in Sacred
Heart Church, where a Requiem Mass, will be offered by the Reverend Father
Loeser. Following the funeral services the body will be taken north for the
interment in Fort Klamath Cemetery.
