Former Resident Buried Here
Graveside services were held in the Dayton cemetery Wednesday afternoon of last week for Mrs. Othelia Short, who died in Portland. Burial was beside her husband who had died in a harvest accident 20 or 25 years ago.
Funeral services had been held in Portland and the remains brought here by her daughter, Mrs. Elmer Cantril, also of Portland, and her son, Dallas Short of Pendleton. Other survivors included a grandson and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Short was born Othelia Butler at Asotin City in January 1871, but both she and her husband were residents of Columbia county many years before moving to Portland.
