James Ancil Gibbons, 87 769 N. Ohio St, Grenville, died at 4:13 p.m. Sunday at the Brethren's Home Medical Center.

Mr. Gibbons was born July 9, 1908, in Darke County, son of John E. and Mabel (Thompson) Gibbons.

Also deceased are one brother and three sisters.

He retired in 1959 from Wright Patterson Air Force Base, and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army Air Force.

Surviving are his wife, Josephine F. (Keever); one son, John A. of Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters, JoAnn Gibbons of Greenville, Peggy Durham of Jasper, Tenn., and Mary Taylor of Camden, Maine; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Lester Gibbons of West Carrolton; and three sisters, Theta Hathaway of Palm Springs, Ca., Mildred Pearson of Greenville and Ada McMichael of Kettering.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, with the Rev. Mary Sue Rosenberger officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Fort Recovery.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
