FROM THE TRI-CITY REPORTER, DYER, TN:
Services were held Thursday, at 2 at the Griers Chapel For Lem Rogers. The Rev W M Vaughn, his pastor, assisted by Rev A W Lassiter of Jackson, and the Rev J Mack Jenkins, Pastor of the Dyer Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in the Griers Chapel Cemetery, with Hunt Bros. in charge.
Mr Rogers, who was 88, was born near Dyer and had lived all his life near Dyer. He was a farmer and the father of Arthur Rogers, former United States marshal with offfices in Memphis , now in Milan, and well known in Tenn.

He died at his home Tuesday night Feb 3, 1948.He was a Methodist for over 70 years, was a Steward in the church for many years. He took an active part in church affairs as long as his health would permit. He married Miss Analiza Crews in 1880. They recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary.
He leaves his wife, two sons, Arthur Rogers and Sam J Rogers of Arlington, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs W W Bly of Nashville, and Mrs Mary Fairless of Laneview; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two brothers, James Rogers and Ellis Rogers of Dyer.
