Leota was born to Charles and Lena "Freeland" Hartley near the Beaver Creek, in a sod house, north of Brewster, KS.
She married Howard Crumrine November 22, 1930.
To this union were born four children: Marion Charles, Malda Mae, Virle Melton, and Mason Howard.
She worked at the Brewster school as head cook, from 1956 until 1974. Howard passed away on October 4, 1970 from a heart attack.
In 1974, Leota was remarried to Kenneth Asbridge of Hoxie, KS. Kenneth passed away on December 23, 1984.
Leota worked at the Hoxie library.
