Willie E. Honeycutt, 81, of Ridge Wood, Tenn., died Wednesday, June 27, at his daughter's house. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Pacific theater of operations. He also was retired from Union Carbide of Oak Ridge, served in the Civilian Conservation Corps, and served as president of the PTA for many years at Ridge Wood Elementary School. He was an active member and deacon of Lake View Baptist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with his family
and friends.He was preceded in death by his wife, Castene Byrd Honeycutt; his daughter,Louise Russell; and his parents, Leonard and Arbanna Bauswell Honeycutt.He is survived by his sons, R. L. Honeycutt of Columbus, Miss., Curtis Honeycutt of Toele, Utah, and Jim Honeycutt of Knoxville; daughters Juanita Deaver of Waynesville, N.C., Phyllis Simpson of Knoxville, Brenda Moore of
Maryville and Yvonne Honeycutt of Oak Ridge; his sister, Dora Allred of Ypsilanti, Mich.; and 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.Funeral services were Friday, June 29, in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. Asbury Byrd and Rev. Roger Stanley officiating.Interment was Saturday, June 30, in Oak Grove Cemetery with the Campbell County Honor Guard in charge of graveside services. The family received friends before services.
